

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. The old has passed away behold, the new has come. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 2 Corinthians 5:16–21įrom now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh.
